1995 Toyota Avalon Smoke is coming from my vehicle

Air Conditioning problem
1995 Toyota Avalon 6 cyl Automatic 121896 miles

Smoke is coming from my hood,but the temperature gauge doesnt move. The mechanic diagnoised the issue as being the air conditioner compressor. My question to you is this possible that a compressor can cause this issue.

Hi Aaron,

First off, how much smoke, can you smell it and what kind of smell is it. Eletrical, coolant or rubber.

Does your A/C work properly? Is there any noises? Squealing or anything.

If a light to medium smoke yes the A/C Compessor can be the cause. Could be the Bearing going bad or a freon leak.
