I am having trouble with my 2001 Tacoma Prerunner. The transmission slips out of gear when in reverse and slams into gear when I accelerate. This has happened ever since I changed the engine oil and oil filter. Is there a correlation and how do I fix this problem? Thanks.

dr.j you should know better than to spend time on the motor and not on the gearbox as well. sounds like you sure made it jelous. have a good look around the oil filter for any vacuum hoses you may have dissconected. like ones leading to the gearbox or cables you may have bent out of place etc. or electrical connections that may not be connected anymore. things go wrong to teach us stuff keep learning and good luck with it :D
