My wife was driving her Toyota 4Runner and the Radiator hose popped off. Instead of pulling over immediately she tried to drive to the nearest gas station. The temperature gauge went to "H" and the engine stopped running. I haven't tried to restart the engine yet.
Any suggestions as to how bad the engine is damaged and approximately how much it would cost to repair it?
Thanks!
Jeremy

HI there,
there is no way of knowing how much damage has been done until you attempt a re start and run a few tests, at worst it will be a total wright off at best may be warped heads, you will have to get it running and see what expires, re post with more information when you get this done.

I got the car running. It started up without any problem. It ran without any problem. I let it idle for about 15 to 30 seconds and then shut it off.
However, it appears that an oil/water mixture is leaking from the engine but I can't tell where it is coming from.
Thanks!

Hi there,
I would be looking at the heads first as the alloy will warp and you will get head gasket problems.
