My 99' 4-Runner has started a belt squeal when I ease off the gas. No noises at acceleration or idle, and nothing while in Park and rev the motor. Sounds like it's coming from the passenger side of the engine compartment.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

start with checking the tension of the drive belts and also the condition, as belts wear they can deposit rubber residue on pulley surfaces which can cause belt noise, if in doubt about the age of the drive belts, replace them and clean all pulley surfaces of any built up residue.
