The door locks on our 4-Runner are randomly making a clicking noise as though they are being opened or closed. The locks are not actually being activated, just making the clicking noise. Any ideas why this might be happening? We had a diagnostic run on the car right before this problem started. The diagnostic was to find out why our engine light was on and showed a low oxygen level but that seems like an unrelated problem. Could the diagnostic procedure have caused the problem?

The diag procedure probably did not cause the problem, unless you have an alarm system you dont have a remote for. It is possible that your battery was disconnected to clear the o2 sensor trouble code resetting the alarm settings causing this.

Sounds like a possible cause. Hope the solution is easy.
Thanks.
