I HAVE INSERTED KEY IN IGNITION AND KEY WON'T TURN,TRIED A NEW KEY AND SAME PROBLEM.STEERING COLUMN FEELS OKAY,JIGGLING COLUMN DOESN'T HELP,HAD A GRADUAL LOCKUP ON THE KEY TURNING FOR ABOUT A YEAR UNTIL ABOUT A MONTH AGO I HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED AND PROBLEM SOLVED,UNTIL NOW,HOWEVER THIS WAS A GRADUAL FAILURE,ONE TIME IT WORKED AND THEN IT DIDN,T. THANKS FOR ANY RESPONSE,YOUR PUZZLED FAN. TERRY

You need to remove the bezels that cover the upper column to visually inspect what is going on. This may be in the mechanical end of the locking assembly instead of the switch.
