1997 Toyota 4Runner stutters at take off

My toyota stutters at take off and the check enginr light has come on. As I get up to speed the light has flickered but is still on. It seems to run ok at 50 mph but doesn't feel like it has the power it used to. Any thoughts??

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on.
