My 4 runner has had a little bit of a loose rear end. The rear passenger tire is worn down the middle of the tire, no other tires are worn.
I pulled both rear tires and hubs. Everything looked good on the rear passenger side (the one with the bad tire), but on the rear driver side there is fluid all over the place. The fluid smells like deferential fluid. The rear breaks work fine and the break cylendar is not leaking.
I am assuming the loosness and the wear on the rear passenger tire are coming from an issue with the rear driver side. Somewhere.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

The tyre wear in the middle of tyre tread is classic over inflation check the tyre pressures, as for the oil leak you will have to get the axle bearing & seal replaced the diff oil is leaking past the axle seal and flushing out the axle bearing into the brakes, this is a job not recommended for home mechanics as it can be extremely difficult to remove these bearings.
