where are the coil packs located,can they be checked to see if good?

Hello, Your vehicle doesn't have a Coil Pack it has a Coil. Coil Packs are used on vehicles that do not have the Distributor Cap and Rotor Buttons. Anyway, find your Distributor Cap, The center Wire is the Coil Wire just follow it to the Coil. To test - Disconnect wiring from coil. Using Ohmmeter check coils primary terminals (+ and -).

Resistance should be .36 - .55 Secondary resistance is measured between the positive (+) terminal and high voltage output terminal.

Resistance should be 9,000 - 15,400 If coil is not within specs replace it. .
