On a four wheel drive run I blew a seal on the power steering gear box. I still have power steering, but it leaks and I hate the mess. What are the steps I need to follow in replacing the power steering gear box? Anything I should watch out for while doing this? Or, is it possible to replace the seals in my existing gear box?

Hello,

It is possible to replace just the steering gear seal on this vehicle.
First you will have to remove the steering gear assembly then you will have to disassemble to install the seal.

Keep in mind that before getting started make sure the steering wheel is straight and mark on the steering shaft before removal, this way it will be easier to line up.

I have attached the disassembly and assembly procedure for the steering gear below.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
