So I had to separate my engine from my transmission. To replace the passenger side timing tension guide. When I tried to put the two back together they would not fully go back together, then I removed the torque converter from engine to put it on transmission first. I thought it was fully engaged. But when I tried to mount the engine back again still the two would not fully go together. I have had other so called mechanics try to assist me but with no luck. I have spun and spun and pressed and pressed and the torque converter will not fully engage. It seems to me that the main shaft is protruding out to far. Is this a possibility. I'm at a loss. What else could be stopping me? I checked all the dplines for damage and even filed to insure no burs were preventing me. any thoughts will help.
