Hey, could you maybe have a list of tools I should get to do my own oil changes myself. I've never done one before I would want to but idk what type of tools I need. But biggest thing is I'm watching your video to know how but I'm dyslexic and also struggle remembering each tools name to actually go get all to have a successful first time. Is their any chance you could give me a list of tools? Sorry if its too much to ask. I also have a 2018 Toyota Prius. If it helps.

here is the list of tools needed. You will need to raise the car up as well, here is a video to help with that as well.

Oil (engine oil) - correct spec. The actual fluid you’ll refill. For the 2018 Prius it’s 0W-20, full synthetic. You’ll need about 4.4 quarts.

Oil filter + gasket/O-ring(s)

Drain plug washer

Small ring that goes under the drain bolt - helps seal and prevent leaks.

Socket wrench set

To remove bolts-nuts. For example, the drain plug is a 14 mm socket or wrench. Helps to have good leverage.

Oil filter wrench - oil filter cap socket

Specialized tool to remove and tighten the oil filter housing without damaging it. For your Prius there’s a 64 mm 14-flute style filter cap tool.

Ratchet and extensions

Torque wrench

Jack - jack stands (or ramps)
To lift the car safely so you can get under. Ramps are sometimes easier. Always use stands for safety.

Oil drain pan To catch the old oil when you remove the drain plug. Make sure it’s big enough.

Funnel - For putting new oil back in without spilling.

Gloves (disposable-latex etc.) To keep your hands clean & protect from hot oil.

Eye protection

Rags - shop towels For wiping up oil, cleaning surfaces, wiping tools.
Flat-head screwdriver (or clip remover)

To remove any splash shields or covers under the car (if present) so you can access the drain plug and the filter.

Let us know if you need anything else.
