I tried the diagnostic test came out 24. I do not understand.

TOD Code 24 = Rear speed sensor open or shorted.
The rear speed sensor on the transfer case is either shorted or the wire(s) are broken and the controller is not receiving a signal from it. I would do a visual inspection of the wiring harness first. Make sure it is not laying on the exhaust or rubbed through on anything. If it looks okay you have the option of installing a new sensor and see if it works or you can test each wire from end to end first.
