To know if the engine has ceased

How to find out other than the vehicle not turning over if it's ceased.

That is easy, use a breaker bar on the front of the engine to see if it will move. Here is where you should check. I believe the socket size is 21mm. Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
