No power and pinging

Cannot drive over thirty mph, no power, heavy ping, engine temperature maybe high. This is a 2001 not 2002. It is showing code PO420, idle very smooth, starts great spark plugs perfect color, no carbon.

Code P0420 is a bad converter. In your case it sounds like it is a plugged converter or muffler. Do an exhaust back pressure test to verify that problem.
