Hello,

I keep trying to fill my flat tire. The problem is that the PSI as soon as I turn on compressor shoots up to 100+ PSI and shuts off compressor, as I put it up that high just to try to fill it at all, then Fastly falls back down. The tire is flat. I have it jacked up, so pressure isn't on it. I have 2 different compressors and the same thing is happening to both. Therefore, I can't fill the tire. I have already put in a new valve core.
Any thoughts?
Thank you.

Hi,

What type of compressor do you have? It sounds like an issue with the regulator of the compressor, but for two of them to do the same thing would be uncommon.

Is the compressor a small one that is kept in the vehicle or is it a larger one in the garage? And so, I understand correctly when you turn the compressor on, the pressure jumps to 100 psi and turns off the compressor. Do you already have the compressor connected to the tire?

Let me know.

Joe

Hello,

They are ones that can be kept in car, I do not have a garage unfortunately. It is attached to the tire but the tire is completely flat so the PSI should not be jumping up to 100 PSI, the highest I can set the pump before it will automatically shut off. It jumps up to 100 within a few seconds and then I have to wait until it comes back down in order to turn pump back on. It happened on both compressors.
Thanks for any insight.

Hi,

If that is happening, then the compressor isn't fully installed on to the valve stem or something is preventing it from allowing air to enter the tire. That is why the compressor jumps to 100 psi.

Make sure the valve stem is clear and free of any debris. If it is, make sure you are fully attaching the compressor to it.

Let me know.
