Codes P000B and P00016, timing issue?

At a loss and hopeful for assistance with a quick fix.

I have replaced the Camshaft, spark plugs, lifters, pushrods, gaskets, timing chain, cam/crank gears (cam phaser), serpentine belt, Oil control valve and verified all timing components twice. Just buttoned it back up and am still getting the P000B and P00016 codes and it goes into limp mode. It is drivable but not getting nearly the power it used to.

What should I do next? I have exceeded my budget and can't afford the $200.00 diagnostic fees anymore.

Hi,

Both codes are related to bank 1 and both sensors at bank one. It sounds like you have done a lot already. Since the codes refer to a slow response, are you sure the engine oil pressure isn't low? Was the engine clean inside when you took it apart or was there excessive sludge?

I attached the diagnostics below specific to the P000B. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

Thank you for the detailed response! Most of the advice requires a Scan tool with relearn and or full diagnostic feature, mine only has DTC functions... sounds like I'm back to paying the dealership. One that sparks my attention is the Cam Phaser needing a relearn, I did notice damage to my phaser (probably my doing in tear down) but I replaced it with an OEM full phaser/sproket assembly. Do you think a phaser would require a relearn?

oh, and sorry for not answering your questions, no sludge. I have changed the oil NLT 5,000 miles with 5 20 and oil has never been an issue except on the first engine overhaul. I initially installed the head gaskets backwards and loaded my oil with coolant (didn't drive it). since 2 oil changes and 5 miles on it...oil is clear and no sludge inside.

Hi,

The cam phaser and the work done do require a relearn. The Cam/Crank Variation Relearn procedure must be performed using the scan tool anytime there has been a repair/replacement made to a powertrain system. For example, flywheel, valvetrain, camshaft, and/or crankshaft sensors or components service, replacement, or repair requires it. This may be the problem.
