I installed a new timing chain. I had all 3 of the marks aligned properly, then installed the guides and tensioner. I rotated the crankshaft manually counterclockwise to check my timing. It took four chain revolutions to get the marks to almost re-align, but now all 3 are one full link to the right (retarded). Is this right? I saw on another advisory that the master mechanic stated that the marks will never align again. I rotated the timing chain an additional 4 revolutions to check if the 3 marks lost another link like the first 4 revolutions. As I suspected, all 3 were retarded 1 more link (2 total now). So, I'm confident my timing is correct. But I'm unsure of the probability of any of the valves being bent. Is this likely? I imagine a DOHC allows a greater clearance inside the cylinder, since the valves wouldn't be as close to each other like a SOHC. Thanks for your knowledge on this matter.

I believe the marks must line up every time it could be you have the incorrect chain? Here are the instructions on how to do the job. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
