Timing belt and brakes

Just replaced the timing belt, the brakes no longer work like they did before. What components involved with the timing belt can effect the brakes? The brakes feel like manual brakes.

How does the engine run? low power? if so then it sounds like the timing belt is off one tooth causing low vacuum.
