timing belt

My timing belt broke when wife was driving, she said it just stopped no loud noise just shut off. now I know it's a interference engine is it at all possible to not bend a valve or crack a piston is there any chance to not have to pull the heads off?

Chances are it is damaged. However, the only way to be sure is to replace the belt and correctly set timing. At that point, check engine compression. If it is good, you got really lucky If some of the cylinders have no compression, you have bent valves.
