Timing

I am struggling to align two holes at the back of cams. could you please tell me position of piston when i set timing without timing tool?

Sorry. none of our reference materials show any methods that don't use the timing tools to do camshaft timing on engines that require them. Also because the Polo wasn't sold in the US with that engine our materials have no coverage of that exact engine to use to base any ideas on.
