I was told at Firestone they couldn't do the alignment due to frozen nut on the Tie Rod end?
So, since they are 14 years old, and I have replaced a ton of stuff figured I would do these too.

I want to replace right and left inner and outer Tie Rod Ends.
Can you provide instructions with diagrams?
Thanks in advance.
I don't know where I would be without you guys.

Hi,

If they told you they couldn't align it because of a frozen nut, it doesn't sound like the tie rids are bad, but instead, the inner tie rod linkage nut. That needs to be loosened to align the vehicle. See pic 1.

I'm suggesting that could be the issue because if it is, the tie rods may or may not be bad.

As far as tie rod replacement, for some odd reason, my manual is only showing outer tie rod replacement. I attached the directions below. Remember when you unscrew it from the inner tie rod to count the number of turns so you can reinstall the new one the same.

Also, if you plan to replace the inner, special tooling will be required. Let me know.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
