Hi,
If they told you they couldn't align it because of a frozen nut, it doesn't sound like the tie rids are bad, but instead, the inner tie rod linkage nut. That needs to be loosened to align the vehicle. See pic 1.
I'm suggesting that could be the issue because if it is, the tie rods may or may not be bad.
As far as tie rod replacement, for some odd reason, my manual is only showing outer tie rod replacement. I attached the directions below. Remember when you unscrew it from the inner tie rod to count the number of turns so you can reinstall the new one the same.
Also, if you plan to replace the inner, special tooling will be required. Let me know.
