I tried to remove the tie rod jam nut with no success. I cleaned the treads with wire brush. Put some lubricant on the threads no success. Any suggestions?

Heat is your friend, I would use a torch to heat up the nut, this will loosen the rust and expand the nut which will help loosen it. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.

Will the heat damage the boot and/or rack and pinion seals?

No, it is too far away from the seals to do damage, the boot on the tie rod might be messed up though.

Hi Ken,

I put some heat on the nut. It did not work. I do not know if I put enough heat or not. How hot it should be. If not, is there another way to remove it?

I would get it hot, just starting to glow, then use a long pipe wrench on it.
