Ticking sound

When I accelerate I hear it but it is off and on. Also, when I sit still I can hear it. I have an oil leak.

First fill with oil and see if it goes a way. If not have a mechanic check for a bad lifter/rocker arm. It may be leaking oil out too much and making the noise as well.

You should use what is required, but I imagine you can use high mileage with no problems as long as it is not above 10w30.
