Hi,
The vehicle has an electronic throttle control circuit and the NAG1 transmission. If I had to guess, I would say there is an issue between the PCM and TCM causing the throttle not to respond when in gear.
What we need to do is scan the can-bus. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.
Here is a link that explains how it's done:

If we don't start with this type of scan, it will become a guessing game. There is a 13-way connector located near the front right corner of the transmission pan. Inspect the connector to make sure there is no damage, and the connection is tight, free of corrosion, and nothing is shorting.
Let me know.
Take care,
Joe
