I cleaned the throttle body and I may have damaged it? I pushed the throttle plate open with my finger and cleaned it with carburetor cleaner. Ever since, it has been shifting oddly and the idle has not been at the correct rpm (600 rpm when warm but sometimes 750). I unhooked the cables to the battery for ten minutes and then reconnected them. I let the car idle for about ten minutes and it has not helped. I tried this twice. The symptoms are minor but noticeable. The gas mileage has not been affected. Is there any fix? I believe the idle control valve is built in so I cannot clean that. Is my only option to purchase a new throttle body or is there a part I can buy? Is there something I can adjust? I cleaned the MAF sensor as well with no success. Thank you for you time.

Two possible issues, the cleaner may have migrated into the TPS part of the throttle body or more likely it the drive motor section did not like you moving it.

The initialization process is basically what you have tried, disconnect the battery for at least a minute, re-connect and turn on the key without touching the pedal. Do that with everything else turned off. The next step you connect a scan tool to verify that the TPS shows at least 60% at full throttle. But that does nothing but verify operation.

I would see about connecting a good scan tool and watch the TPS at idle and as you slowly move the pedal. Then see what the MAF is doing. It would show you which piece is the offender.

OEM idle spec is 600-700.
