I was having throttle issues, losing power from time to time for short bursts. This went of for a month or two I guess. Then the throttle went totally out. Truck would idle but no throttle. Cables are good so I changed the throttle position sensor. That fixed the problem. I could drive around town at slow speeds. When I got out of town speeds 55+ the throttle stuck. I put the truck in neutral and shut it off. When I turned the truck back on I was back to no throttle. I guess the sensor is fried. I looked at my fuses and they seemed to be just fine.

do you think it was a bad part? What do I need to look at? I would take it to a mechanic but I am way out in the bush in Alaska and that is not an option.

Thanks,

Good morning,

I would start by cleaning the throttle cable as the cable may be an issue not moving. If carbon builds up, it can prevent the throttle from working and stick open at times.

I attached some pictures of the cable for you.
