When the ignition key is in "bulb check" position, three warning lights come on and stay constantly lit: service engine soon, check gauges, and battery. These lights should light up and then go out almost instantly. All warning lights go out after the engine is started and while driving. There is no drivability issues. Gauges are working normally. Battery is ok. I disconnected both battery cables overnight without result. Can not retrieve any stored codes, because the "service engine light soon" light will not blink. This problem started after driving with the "service engine light " on for two days, coming on at stoplights and going out on acceleration. This problem was fixed(high idle speed) on day three, and the light never came back on. After this I tried to check codes and noticed the warning lights not working properly. My truck has the OBD1 system. My gauge cluster has what is called "check gauges lamp driver". Is it the problem, if so can it be reset with a scan tool? If the ECM is the problem can it be reset?
