Thermostat sensor installation

Thermostat sensor will not screw back in to radiator, it was removed to get to hose outlet.

Check and make sure none of the threads are damaged or pulled. Also, check where the sensor mounts for damage that may have resulted by something hitting the area.

Thanks for the reply. The thread looks fine on the sensor is it possible the thread on the radiator has failed? I cannot see it there is just a hole. Would the radiator have to be replaced if this is the case?

I cannot understand what would have damaged them. Using a mirror and a light, see if you can tell the condition of the radiator's threads. If they are good, it should go in. As far as replacing the radiator, if the threads are damaged in the radiator, they make a tool that cleans up threads, so you should not have to replace it.
