thermostat replacement

2003 FORD THUNDERBIRD
106,000 MILES • 3.9L • V8 • 2WD • AUTOMATIC

In addition to thermostat replacement, I also will be replacing the coolant part it mounts to. My question is: since there are other items close to the area, some wiring, hoses, etc., is it best to disconnect the battery first, and, when finished and battery re-attached will anything need to be re-programmed?

Hello,

Yes it is best to disconnect the battery and there should not be any reprogramming necessary.
