Broke off the lower thermostat housing bolt. So I drilled it out and retapped it. Now I’m trying to flush the system without a thermostat and it just pours water out of the thermostat housing when I try to fill it. Any ideas?

Could you take a picture of the repaired area? It sounds like the housing isn't seating fully, the OEM units have location sleeves on the housing that fit into recesses on the timing chain cover where the water outlet bolt. If the replacement bolt is larger they likely don't fit and are causing it to leak. The other possibility is that the cover cracked and is leaking. Same with the thermostat housing.
