My thermostat goes up and down for no apparent reason. I have a new radiator and my water pump does not leak so not really sure what's the problem. I drove like 16 miles today and it didn't not fluctuate. But I came back home and parked for a while then I left again to drive maybe less than a mile and the needle went up really high when I was in the drive through. Then I left the line to go park, by the time I got to put it in park it was back to normal again. I need help.

Sounds like the radiator fan isn't turning on. Natural air flow while driving is sufficient and the fan isn't needed during that time. The fan is only needed at slow speeds or while standing still.
