I had to replace the battery and the starter at the same time. and now the theft light is on steady, not flashing, but there is no signal to the starter. Also, if I jump the solenoid and force the starter to work, it will start, but dies in only a couple of seconds. This sounds like a typical theft system scenario, but I have tried to reset it multiple times with no success. Please help.

Hi,

How are you trying to reset it? If you allow the key to stay in the run position for approximately 10 minutes, will the light turn off and the vehicle start? There is a "Long Tamper Mode" the computer can go into.

Also, if there are any codes stored in the theft deterrent module, it will not reset. They need to be cleared before trying a reset.

Let me know.
