My water pump is bad. I have a new one and need step by step directions on how to change my water pump.

Hello,

Here is a generic guide on how to replace a water pump which you can go over to know how the job is done:

Removal:
Drain the coolant and disconnect the coolant outlet pipe connection hose from the coolant pump.
Remove the drive belt and engine coolant pump pulley.
Remove the timing belt covers and the timing belt idler.
Remove the coolant pump mounting bolts, then remove the generator brace.
Remove the coolant pump assembly from the cylinder block.

Do you have to take off the timing belt?

Yes you would need to.

"Remove the timing belt covers and the timing belt idler."

Removing the timing belt idler means the timing belt would be loosened so ensure you have the timing marks correct before you attempt to remove the timing belt.
