I just changed the thermostat and now the truck just shuts off. All the gauges went back to normal and started working, I drove it to my house. Now I started up and it just shuts off.

Hi,

When the vehicle stalls after starting, are you able to start it right back up? Also, when you replaced the thermostat, did was there a lot of coolant spilled on the engine? Is the check engine light staying on all the time or does it shut off after a few seconds?

Let me know,
Joe

Yes, I can start it up right after it shuts off. Yes, a lot of coolant spilled from the on the engine then I took off to the whole house right now it just starts up and it doesn't run. It's just I'm able just to start it up and it doesn't stay long it just doesn't stay on when I start up.

Hi,

I'm questioning if something such as a crankshaft position sensor was damaged by coolant. Are there any diagnostic trouble codes? Have you tried scanning the computer? I suspect it is something simple because the problem started after the work. However, I don't want to recommend parts without being somewhat certain. Also, is the security light (anti theft) staying on?

Joe

When I started it again it started to wind it like a circuit short thin the engine got stronger, but it was winding I let it run for about a couple of seconds then I shut it off. It might be the sensor the reason it won't stay on but it sound like some kind of connection like either the spark plug wires made it. But if not that's sensor then what else could it might be? I don't know. I thank you very much though. I really don't know what else could the problem I have been. Thanks

Hi,

Is it possible for you to record what you heard with your phone and upload it for me to hear?

I was going to try to shut it off at one more time on Sunday night and then try to make a run for it to catch the mechanic in the morning. It sounds like the was getting a little better. I'm just really scared to shut it back on.

It's like when I leave it turned off for a long while it jump-starts back back on, but then don't want to mess around with it it becomes an issue like a problem and it doesn't want to do anything. It just doesn't start. It won't start and I'm all the way out of the country now and I really don't want to get stuck out this way.

I'm just showing my turn it on again and it'll probably mess it up and it'll be too weak to run it for Sunday night to catch the mechanic in the morning. I don't have money for a tow truck and the mechanic.

I understand. If I can do something to help, let me know. Also, since you are having it checked, if you have the chance, could you let me know what is found?

Take care,
Joe

I have a question I never had really made it to the mechanic because of when I got down here I parked it up and then you know almost all of a sudden a lot of bills to start powering up. So I still haven't made it down there, but I have a quick question. I have put a brand new battery in the truck and I turned everything off in the truck and I parked it next morning when I turn the truck on the battery battery was completely drain. I don't know if a cat could have cut one of the wires under the truck I don't know. But I know that nothing on it was on in the in the truck and the battery is completely drained. What can be the problem?

Do you mean you installed a good battery and then got in the vehicle and it was dead?
