The rear suspension pump stopped working on a trip

Rear suspension pump quit, while I was on a trip, and I found a leaking airbag which I have replaced, but the pump still does not come on. When connected directly the pump runs ok, what could the issue be? I have checked the fuses and relays, and they seem fine, checked for air leakage and all pipes are good, I am wondering what triggers the pump to come on and if that is the issue there does not seem to be any disconnections that I can see. I also cross-checked that the pipes to the airbags from the pump are in good condition. The only other clue I have is that the switch for height control is glued to one position but it has been like that since I got the car and I have not had any problems before. What tests can I do to determine exactly what has gone wrong. The other question is that there are no warning lights that have come on on the dashboard, so I am also wondering if that is a sign of a dash light failure or is it possible that there can occur a problem which does not register on the dashboard? Would a diagnostic check be an answer to this?I would relly appreciate it if you could help me with this problem as at the moment I am at a loss as to what else to check for, all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

We do not have any information for your vehicle but I checked for information on the Lexus GX470 and basically you should start with a scan to check for trouble codes. This is not a power train related problem so most probably it might not trigger any warning indicator lights.
