Gas pedal is sticking

The way to figure this out is to try to determine where the cable is getting hung up. It may not be the cable itself, but I would suggest unhooking it from the throttle body and then have someone hold the end of the cable (with everything else still hooked up) and someone else step on the accelerator. The person holding the end of the cable needs to hold some tension on it so that they are acting like the spring on the throttle body. If there is no binding then your issue is probably in the throttle body itself. There is a large spring that can get gummed up and stick. Also, the throttle plate itself gets covered in an oily residue and can begin to stick as well.

If this is the case, you can simply clean both the spring and throttle body bore with a carburetor cleaner and brush if needed. Replacement is normally not needed but if this does not solve your issue then you may need to replace it.

If when the cable is removed the throttle still sticks, then your issue is in the cable routing or pedal assembly, however I suspect your issue is in the throttle body just from my experience.
