The fuel pump delay

Long story short is that when I switch the key on most of the times the fuel pump light is off, it would crank only, but will not start. What I do is that I leave the key in switched on usually after ten minutes the fuel pump comes on by itself and you can even hear something from the front indicating it is ready to start, so I crank it and it starts.

This problem has been happening for six months.
I have noticed it takes longer in cold weather for the fuel pump indication light to appear on dash board.
An electrician did a computer test he said it might cost me between 750-1000$ to be fixed, he said it's a computer card.

Fuel pump light? Are you sure about that? I have never heard of a fuel pump light. Can you take a picture of it?

The first picture is when I switch the key on as you can notice the pump light is off.
The second picture is after I left the key switched on for around ten minutes the pump light came on to the right side, that is when it turns on.
My girl friend used to crank it over and over till it turns on, when I took the car from her I noticed that I ddid not need to crank it, so I used to switch it on and off many times until the pump light appears. Then later in the week I tried something and I noticed I do not need to switch it on off many times all I do now is switch the key on and wait and it comes on by itself.

That is the "check engine" light. If that does not light up for bulb check, then the computer has not powered up. You want to look at things like the main engine relay.

So yeah, without this light the car does not start and it takes a bit time after switching the key on until it is ready to start. What do I need to do? Change the main engine relay?

There is no magic answer. It need to be troubleshooted to determine why the computer is not powering up. The relay is a good place to start testing.
