The engin lighht won't go out and no codes show up

The engine light in my 2005 STS won't go out and there are no codes that show. The cigar lighter's don't work, and now the cruise control doesn't work either. I checked the fuses and quite a few of them read they are not getting power. I changed them still the same thing. I took them out and put them in other places and they checked out good.
Is there a fuse of something that control's an group of fuses ?

There will be codes in there. you probably are not using the correct equipment. There are lots of things that a DIY code reader cannot access. They may even be body codes but you are going to need some bidirectional, professional equipment.
