Hi,

This could be the result of a few things. Have you confirmed the transmission fluid is both clean and full? Here is a link that explains how to check. Additionally, take a look through the other link.

Next, if the fluid is both clean and full, confirm the shift linkage is properly adjusted. See pics below.
