The car started fine and after parking it the next day it won't start. The fuel light did come on and I stopped at the gas station only 6 miles after it came on. It drove then after with no problem and the next day it wouldn't start. It it cranks fine but no start. I think it's due to the fuel delivery. I've primed the main fuel pump in the tank by connecting 12v directly to it and ran it three times 60 seconds each with no results. When I try doing the same on the auxiliary pump the one in the engine bay when I hook up 12 volts to it it will only click and it won't run? Is it supposed to be running when I connect the power to it? Also when I use the starter fluid it would start for a second or two which prompts me to think that it is the fuel delivery issue? Please let me know what you think? Thanks

Also i think you should be able to hear the electric fuel pump run for at least 3 seconds when you turn the key on to see the dash lights on but not cranking it ..if you dont hear it running then it might just be a fuze or a bad relay ..bit the mechanical one on the engine acually is the least likely one to go first if theres a fuel issue.. so yeah if you dont hear the pump briefly run then check the fuzes if not there check the relay in that order..but also keep in mind there might not evan be a fuel starvation problem at all anyway..good luck hope this helps

Just a side note " the fuze for the pump relay is located in the fuze pannel on the drivers side theres a end panel there it under that its position #27 and its a ..20 amp yellow fuze its kinda comon on these vw passats to blow that fuze so thats a good place to start if youve determined that theres a fuel delivery issue..good luck
