the abs and airbag lights come on after the engine is running

at first it seems like it will not start, clicking sound when key is turned. Then after I pump the gas a couple times it starts.
then the abs and airbag lights come on and stay on.
the headlights seem to dim at idle speed, and idle seems to drop down or slow much lower than normal.

OK, first understand this, pumping the throttle on a fuel injected car does nothing but exercise your foot.

It sounds like you have a connection issue somewhere in the power or ground supplies. I would remove and clean all battery cables, including the power cables that supply the fuse box.
