TEST CRANKSHAFT POSITISION SENSOR

When I crank the car, it cranks, but does not start. And I want to know if the Engine Control Unit (ECU) is faulty. If I test the crank sensor, will the sensor shows signal if it work properly?

Please, the security light does not illuminate on the dash, but when I crank the engine there is no spark. and I want to know if the ECU is faulty and I test the crank sensor ,will the sensor show signal if it is working ?
