Temperature gauge not working properly after replacing the water pump and radiator

The car was overheating decided to replace the water pump and radiator but now the temperature gauge is a minute or two above the middle level and the engine and radiator is hot when touched but the water/coolant is still full.

Good morning,

I would replace the thermostat as that is what controls the temperature of the coolant.
