I have LT model. I had the temperature problem so I changed both temperatures sensors, and the reservoir cap and the thermostat but the temperature gauge is still not working properly. The fan only turns on when I turn the A/C on. Could someone give me an advice on what might still be causing the problem?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

I am a bit confused. You mentioned the temperature gauge is not working and the fan is not turning on other than with the AC. Please explain what the temperature gauge is doing. Also, is the engine overheating?

Let me know,
Joe

If the car is idle with the A/C off then the gauge will start going up like the car is warming up but as soon as you turn on the A/C so that the car can warm up since it is cold here in Ohio. The temperature gauge goes back to the cold position and if it goes all the way back to cold a message appears saying that the A/C not working due to high temperature, but the car has not been on that long. Due to that message is why I changed all those parts. Before I changed the temperature sensor in the radiator it would give me that message but the car would work most of the time without any problems. But know I do not know what might be causing the problem.

HI and welcome back.

I have to confirm something. Is it the air conditioning you are turning on? That does not make sense if it is cold outside. When you say AC, are you referring to the blower motor for the heater?

Let me know.

It sounds like the thermostat is stuck open causing the computer to get confused by. To be sure lets run the codes to see what comes up. Here is a guide:

Please run down this guide and report back.

Cheers, Ken
