My car was completely cold for hours when I started it the other night. Immediately the temperature gauge needle pegged way past the hot setting. I knew the car was not hot since I had not driven it for hours. I took off on my journey. I knocked on the front of the Plexiglas and the needle with back down immediately to where it normally would be. after stopping where I was going to and then getting back in the car and starting it back up the needle did the same thing now I cannot get it to go back down but I know the car is not running hot. Do you think it is the sending unit?
