Temperature gauge not working after bypassing heater core

My heater core went out so i bypassed it until i can pay to fix it. but now my temperature gauge isn't moving and my digital screen is reading engine hot turn A/C. off. but my car isn't smoking or leaking.

Hello,

Can you please double check the year of manufacture of your vehicle. Our reference material only goes to 1996 for the Chevrolet Caprice because it is only for the US market.
