How to find TDC?

How do I find the TDC on the vehicle listed above LS?

Hi,

To determine the top dead center, you need access to the crankshaft timing gear behind the timing cover.

There is a mark on the gear that aligns with a mark on the rear timing belt cover. Take a look at the picture below.

What do I do if the belt slipped when removing the motor mount? And we marked all the spots, but the belt had slipped so that would make it off time? Right? And how do we know if it's on compression or the exhaust side? So, if we reset the whole timing how do we do that? How many rotations can we do by hand on the crankshaft? Is it more than two?

Hi,

If you align the marks, the number one cylinder will be at TDC. Also, I'm not sure why you would need to turn the crankshaft more than 180 degrees to achieve TDC.

As far as the belt slipping, yes, you need to make sure it is properly timed. If it slipped, the timing would be off.
