When I start my car in the morning I hear a tapping sound it goes and comes, through out the day as I drive, and a sound that sounds like air being released.

The tapping sound could be many things, as it sounds like it does it more when you first start the engine I would lean toward it being related to the valve train, specifically the valve lifters.
The other sound is more difficult. Does that one get louder or change as you step on/off the gas?
Do you think you could record them and post them using the add link? That would make it easier to ID them.
