Hi, hope you are doing well. I have the vehicle listed above 9N model, hatchback, with a BLM motor. I want to replace the gasket on the tappet cover and I am not sure about the removal of the cover. It seems like I have to loosen the cam and crankshaft but I'm not sure if that is correct. I have searched endless days to find the removal procedure.

If someone could provide me with step-by-step details on how to do it without messing up the timing, the easiest method possible, I would really appreciate it a lot.

It does not look like anything special you should be able to remove the bolts and take of the valve cover, here are the instructions I found:

Removal
Loosen accelerator cable.
Remove the spark plug cables from support.
Remove tube from crankcase ventilation device.
Remove upper cover from mechanical distributor.
Remove upper rear cover from mechanical distributor.
Remove fastening nuts from cylinder head cover.
Carefully remove cylinder head cover.
